Collection: Biodiversity

Earth has experienced five previous mass extinction where most species were wiped out. Now humanity has caused a sixth one. More than 1 million species of land animals are threatened with extinction - we have increased the natural extinction rate by 10,000 times by altering animals' habitats, deforestation, unsustainable production and pollution, and now climate change. In 2022, 196 countries adopted the UN Convention on Biological Diversity to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030. Individuals can make a difference - you can buy fewer products, reduce waste, recycle and support projects and organisations protecting biodiversity.
