Enquiry resources

Mastery Science is developing a set of ready-to-go 'enquiry briefs' for students to engage in 3 kinds of enquiry:

  • Investigation enquiry projects which answer a scientific question with an experimental enquiry
  • Design enquiry projects: which solve a problem through engineering design
  • Research enquiry projects - which explore a personal, local or global socio-scientific issue

The enquiry briefs are designed to be:

  • relevant to the interests and concerns of 14-16-year-olds
  • accessible and cutting-edge science
  • easy-to-run activities and technology-based projects
  • low-cost options as well as those requiring more expensive equipment

Enquiry briefs are ideal for Project Qualifications, and are flexible: 

  • guided route aimed at HPQ/FPQ, with structure and support
  • Independent route aimed at EPQ, requiring  critical thinking and decisions
